    Okunikko Yumoto Onsen has a very long history, having been discovered during the Heian period when Shodo Shonin founded Mt Nantai.
    It is a hot spring with a good spring quality, which has a bathhouse and has been used as a common bath for common people. Yumoto Onsen has been designated a People's Recreation Spa from only two places in 1954 along with the Itamuro Onsen of the prefecture today.
